In the centre of the Trauttmannsdorff castle’s garden lies the castle that Count Trauttmansdorff had newly built on the mediaeval ruins; the Empress Sissi lived there on two occasions during her winter cures. Today the castle hosts the Touriseum – the museum of tourism. In the restored rooms in which Empress Sissi lived, guests can admire fascinating furnishings where reproductions of the settings illustrate the transformation of Alto Adige into one of Europe’s favourite holiday resorts.
