To the Alps huts of Maria Weissenstein

Maria Weissenstein - Schmieder Alp - Schönrast Alp - Maria Weissenstein

After approx. 10-minute drive you reach the starting point: Maria Weissenstein. The wandering begins comfortably just and easily uphill by woods and about clearings and then goes in the second part direction Lerch (faction of Aldein) only downhill about pastures, meadows and larch woods. From Schlögler you also already start the way back. Up to Schmiederalm it goes quite a lot uphill, but the view repays certainly and to the Schönrastlam and back to Maria Weissenstein. Family tip: about an abbreviation you reach directly to the Schönrastalm

To the Schneiderwiesen

Wölfl farmstead in Nova Ponente - Klaus shepherd’s hut - Wachtspitz - Schneiderwiesen - path 1 - path 4a - E 5 - Wölfl farmstead in Nova Ponente

10 km - 5,5 hours
Take the car to the Wölfl farmstead in Nova Ponente. From here walk through the red spruce forest passing in front of the Tschingger and Nopp farmsteads along the Spörlboden. – we recommend a visit to the splendid panoramic viewpoint of Rotwand. Proceeding towards the Klaus shepherd’s hut across the Wachtspitz start to descend towards the Schneiderwiesen, where you can stop for a short rest and where you can have something to eat and drink if you wish. The follow the footpath marked 1 until you reach Bauernkohlern, and then footpath 4a across the Wolftal until the Spörboden and then the E5 until you reach the Wölfl farmstead.

Distance: 4,3 km - Duration: 1:15 hours
Vertical climb: 170 m - Max. height: 1531 m
We start our hiking tour at the parking space of the monastery Madonna di Pietralba
with ist beautiful views of the South Tyrolean mountains.
Following trail no. 2, a broad forest trail also accessible for prams, we cross a small mountain stream over a Bridge and finally reach the Monte San Pietro mountain hut.
