Our core values of respect towards nature, sustainability and regionality ensure a healthier life style, vitality and even more joy in what we do.
Regional cycles
We reconcile our commitment to top quality with strengthening regional cycles and caring for our environment and biodiversity. We focus on our own production, seasonality, cooperation with local producers, increasingly vegetarian cuisine, as well as fair and species-appropriate products.
Pfösl’s natural cuisine
We attach great importance to high-quality, regional and seasonal products and are supported by farmers from the region, local producers and partners.
Natura bar
Our bar only serves drinks that contain no colourings or preservatives and thus offer all the more variety and enjoyment – delicious and unique. Cheers!
Local farmers and producers
We source natural products first-hand directly from the producers, with a close eye on careful handling during their production and processing.
Eggental taste local
This is a pilot project between the tourism and farming sectors that brings all that grows here in the Eggental Valley to the table, right here in the Eggental Valley. And we’re part of it!
Healthy cuisine
Our cuisine focuses on innovative, healthy and plant-based dishes, with a conscious, mindful selection of meat and fish, some of which is organic.
Pfösl’s permaculture
In our permaculture garden we grow an impressive selection of natural and tasty vegetables, cultivate old and sometimes forgotten plants, and nurture some very special rarities.
Energy
We want to make a concrete contribution to climate protection and have set ourselves the major goal of reducing our energy consumption and increasing our energy autonomy.
Natural heating
We obtain all the heat we need for our hot water, heating, pool and wellness facilities from a nearby wood processing firm with a biomass heating plant.
Green electricity
Anything that our own photovoltaic system cannot produce is provided as 100% green electricity through South Tyrolean hydropower.
Salt not chlorine
We disinfect our pools with salt solution, which is not only better for the environment but also for the skin, eyes and mucous membranes.
Energy recovery
Our new compound cooling system makes use of heat recovery and environmentally friendly refrigerant, minimising water consumption and optimising energy and heat utilisation.
Building control
Our digital building control system allows us to view and adjust temperatures at any time, while immediately recognising and rectifying faults and anomalies.
Water-saving taps
Our water-saving taps not only mean water savings of up to 40%, but also reduce the energy needed for water treatment and the associated CO2 emissions.
Mobility
We encourage and make it easier for employees and guests to reach our hotel in a climate-friendly way and to move around without a car. We also strive to find the best and most efficient solutions in terms of the supply chain in order to continuously reduce our upstream emissions.
Guestpass Eggental
The smart Guestpass lets you use all public transport throughout South Tyrol completely car(e)free and without charge!
Mountain Pass Eggental
This pass offers unlimited access to 17 lifts for either 3 or 5 days in a 7-day period for hiking on the Schlern massif and the Rosengarten and Latemar ranges.
Car-free
Excellent rail connections to South Tyrol and transfer shuttles direct from station to hotel make for stress-free, environmentally friendly arrivals and departures. Try it!
Electric mobility
We encourage low-emission mobility: we have installed several charging stations for electric cars and are an official Tesla partner, including a charging service.
Recycling
We pursue the goal of avoiding waste at source and, guided by the principles of the circular economy, we are constantly increasing the proportion of "waste" that we recycle/recover.
Zero waste
The shampoos, body and hand washes that we place in the rooms are in solid form, require no packaging, are 100% natural and handmade in South Tyrol.
aquaenatura
The finest mountain spring water – still or sparkling – filtered and biologically purified, with every bottle sold contributing to a climate protection project with clean drinking water.
Reduce, reuse, recycle
The best rubbish is that which does not occur. Our overriding principle is to avoid waste; it is otherwise recycled and correctly separated.
Recycling
Waste is carefully and meticulously separated throughout our establishment, then reintroduced into the recycling system.
Long-life
We pay close attention to environmental compatibility when purchasing new devices and consumables and we consciously choose higher-quality, long-life products.
Plastic-free
For many years now we have been avoiding plastic throughout our hotel whenever possible: from kitchen purchases to the shampoos, body and hand washes placed in the rooms.
Living space
At the Pfösl, beauty is understood as an aesthetic experience. We are inspired by nature, its cycles and our history when designing our structure as well as the interior and exterior areas.
Habitats
It is a delight to live the annual cycle in natural surroundings, finding that everything we need is in fact always there.
Natural decor
Nature both outside and inside: Eva uses the twigs, grasses, flowers and blossoms that she finds around the hotel for atmospheric decoration in the house, fresh or dried according to the season.
Maximum hygiene
We clean and disinfect all areas to the highest standards of hygiene daily, in line with the HACCP colour coding system.
GSTC
We have been awarded the world’s highest certification for sustainable tourism. Holiday here with a clear conscience!
South Tyrol sustainability label
Management, socio-economics, culture and ecology are the four areas that this label covers. We entered at the highest level, Level 3, which corresponds to the GSTC standard.
Sustainability Award
We are the winners of the fourth Sustainability Award in the “Sustainable Pioneers” category, presented at the Hotel 2022 trade fair in Bozen.
Culture and tradition
Our hotel sees itself as part of the local community, with which it shares values and creates connections. We enable our guests to access our tradition, culture and nature in a respectful way and to resonate with them.
The power of herbs
Over 50 medicinal and garden herbs and numerous flowers grow in Brigitte’s flowerbeds around the hotel, and are used in the kitchen, in herbal workshops, in teas and for smoking foodstuffs.
Fermenting
To ensure a wide selection of fruit and vegetables in the winter months, for example, we ferment and preserve these items once they are harvested.
Forest rye
For over five years now we have been growing our own “forest rye”, an old and forgotten grain variety that we for example use on bread-baking days at the Pfösl.
Busy bees
The beehives around the Pfösl not only offer a fine residence for these little creatures, but also make sure that the meadows and forests blossom in their magnificent colours.
Pfösl’s Tyrolean grey cattle
Four beautiful specimens of this endangered breed have lived on our farm since 2022, with plenty of space to roam throughout the year.
Our potatoes
Almost 1,000 kg of organic potatoes are grown on our own potato field, including old varieties such as Blaue Anneliese, Hermes and Désirée. Homegrown simply tastes better!
Our bar only serves drinks that contain no colourings or preservatives and thus offer all the more variety and enjoyment – delicious and unique. Cheers!
