High altitude hike to the Rosengarten

Karerpass - Paolina refuge - Ostertag refuge - Karerpass

Enjoy this exceptional high altitude hike! The incredible thing is that it is almost all downhill, with hardly any uphill slopes! You are asking how this is possible? The answer is simple: go by car to the Karerpass, where the chairlift departs that will take you to the Paolina refuge at an altitude of 2125 m. From there you walk on level ground for around 1 hour under the majestic cliffs of the Rosengarten until you reach the Ostertag refuge. Stop here for a rest and to admire the view, before returning to your starting point passing through meadows and almost always going downhill (around 2 hours).
