Certified Sustainability
What GSTC certification means for Pfösl – and why it is much more than just a label.
At Pfösl, sustainability is not a trend, but has been part of our mindset and way of acting for many years. It is reflected in many small and large decisions: in the conscious use of resources, in regional cycles, in social responsibility and in the way we approach tourism holistically.
In May 2022, Pfösl was certified for the first time according to the criteria of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). The GSTC criteria are internationally recognised as a benchmark for sustainable tourism and cover key areas such as sustainable management, social and economic responsibility, cultural aspects and environmental sustainability. Since then, the re-audit has taken place every spring.
The independent assessment and certification were carried out by Vireo, a GSTC-accredited certification body. This independent verification is exactly what makes the certification so valuable to us: it confirms that sustainability at Pfösl is not only communicated, but firmly embedded in our daily practice and independently verifiable.
For us, this certification is both confirmation and motivation. It shows us that the path we have chosen is the right one and encourages us to continue consistently – with respect for nature, responsibility towards people and the aim of bringing regeneration and sustainable hospitality into harmony.
Today, this commitment is also reflected in the South Tyrol Sustainability Label – Level 3, which corresponds to the internationally recognised GSTC standard. It further underlines our ambition to live sustainability not through isolated measures, but as a holistic and authentic approach.
